A collaboration of sorts between Virgin Media and ITV

Many of the ITV’s catch-up channels would now be available on Virgin Media. Virgin Media, fiber optic cable broadband provider in UK, has started offering their digital TV package subscribers with several catch-up channels from ITV.

Virgin Media’s subscribers who have bundle packages of broadband, home phones and TV will now automatically get ITV channels like ITV2+1, ITV3+1 and ITV4+1. And company has also confirmed that they will be providing subscribers with ITV1 HD on all the packages from April 2nd onwards.
UK entertainment and showbiz news channel Digital Spy has confirmed that few more channels like Quest and Military History too have been added by Virgin Media. These two channels are positioned at 179 and 236 respectively.

But Virgin Media still hasn’t confirmed about the launch of ITV1+1 channel. ITV1+1 channel still haven’t been launched. Reports say that the launch was delayed by a campaign about the future of sales from adverting on the channel.

Virgin Media recently launched its V HD box which capable of accessing six HD channels that have been launched.  The new box will be available to new and existing subscribers of Virgin Media without any extra subscription fees. Subscribers will just have to pay onetime fee of £49 plus the installation charges. The V HD box is 3D ready and comes with HDMI and Ethernet port. The box has been manufactured by Cisco. Since it comes with single tuner, you can go for V+ HD box if you want to record some channel while you are watching another.

BT broadband and calls to cost as low as £7.99 a month

BT broadband which had recently launched Talk and Surf Plus bundle has extended the deadline for consumers to subscribe to it.

The Talk and Surf Plus plan offers users broadband and phone calls for just £7.99 month. This tariff would be available for 3 months. The plan offers users unlimited UK calls on weekends with free customer support. New users will have to pay £50 for new connection line. And for broadband users will be getting download speeds up to 20Mbps with month download limit of 10GB. It comes with BT basic security feature and users can add mobile broadband in future. The plan would cost user £15.99 after the offer deadline is over. Users will be under an 18 month contract with the company.

Other than this package BT has various other packages for users. They bundles for internet access with unlimited download limit, only subject to fair usage policy of theirs. They also have packages for digital TV like BT Vision, which is BT’s digital TV service.
